The founder Mr.Prabhudas C Gandhi, has been the President of The Lions Club and later of BIMA, Bombay Iron Merchants Association for many years. He has held a high post in the FAM Federation of Merchants, Mumbai. With BIMA he was responsible for making guidelines with the Government for shifting the market from Mumbai to Navi Mumbai and for constructing their Steel Complex Building at Kalamboli. He is respected even today by one and all. He has in his college days participated in Freedom Movement from his native place in Mahuva, Saurashtra, Gujarat for which he was awarded a medal by the Government of India. He is honored by the Mumbai Mayor for his yeoman services for the Trading community of Mumbai. He was the managing trustee of Trivenima Charitable Trust at his hometown Mahuva and has successfully built an OLD AGE home there for elders of the Society. It is regarded as the best old age home and is very popular in the area.

His son Neeraj Gandhi, BE, MBA had created a niche in the market as one who is operating a company that has information and understanding about every need of its customers be it technical or administrative. It is his philosophy to be in line with changes in rules and regulations brought in by the Government from time to time. He has strived to take the best advantage of this by implementing these changes from day 1 to help the customers gain the maximum from these schemes and procedures. Built-up a team that supports every need of the customer. He has introduced almost every item under Mild steel and is now offering other Ally steel products like Aluminium and Stainless steel.

Steps taken for Industry benefit are

• Among the first few to be registered with the Excise Department to pass on Excise credit as Dealers.
• Successful tie-ups with processing units in Shearing, Slitting, Size cutting, Pickling, Packing, Forwarding, and Fabrication we have taken care of the needs of our customers in various services.
• Cut-to-length services in exact dimensions are required and are achieving perfect results. We are able to maintain even 0 to 2mm tolerance in length, width, and diagonals.
• For Customers who are engaged as subcontractors of Exporters, we have helped them in getting a refund of Excise, Vat, and now GST.
• To direct Exporters and Export houses we have delivered material under Excise Bond / CT-1 schemes without payment of Excise and VAT, and now GST.
• Supplied to factories being set up at SEZ units under the purview of the SEZ act. Have procedures set for enabling them to procure material from Domestic Area Suppliers with a reduced rate of GST along with other benefits of Exports like Duty Drawback or DEPB or Duty-free Import of Raw material.
• Gandhi & Co. provides consultation on the right quality of steel required for specific use. If dimensional variation, specific color, high/low Tensile or Carbon, different surface finish or coating, is required we are able to offer ready or get it made subject to minimum order quantity.
• We also help in sourcing the right quality and size from anywhere at the right time.
• Constantly look for future products that can add value to products currently in use. Galvalume and Aluminised sheets are such products that are gaining ground as it enhances the usability and life of the operation. Construction steel with High corrosion-resistant content is being made with a low sulfur-phosphorous ratio.

We have godowns in Mumbai and Navi Mumbai from where we offer material in retail as well as wholesale of all our products. The two large godowns are located in the heart of Mumbai’s Iron & Steel market at Ahmedabad Street, Carnac Bunder, Masjid East, Mumbai 400009. One cannot miss our Godown office once one steps into the area. Fromgodown in Navi Mumbai we are offering a host of services like warehousing, shearing, slitting, size cutting, packing, etc.
